About Islanders Write:
Islanders Write is a MV Times initiative which for more than a decade has produced a unique festival where writers with a connection to the Island come together for robust conversations and writing workshops about the art, craft and business of writing. These free events includes panel discussions, book signings and writing workshops and is a highly anticipated part of the Island summer. In 2025, the Islanders Write in March was launched, offering a weekend of writing workshops that are free to attend.
In 2025, Islanders Write created a mentorship and training program for a new generation of writers to serve the Island community through local reporting, with the goal of empowering local voices, particularly young voices, and to teach them the craft of journalism that is fair, non-partisan, fact-based stories that enlighten and inform our increasingly diverse community.
