Makenzie Brookes of Housing Bank M.V. will make a presentation at the Tisbury Vision Forum at 6 pm on Wednesday, March 13, at the Tisbury Senior Center.
In response to Martha’s Vineyard’s critical housing needs and 2017 voter support, the Housing Bank M.V. is presenting two warrant articles at each of the 2019 annual town meetings. The first article would create an island-wide Housing Bank. The second would allow a portion of the revenues from the newly expanded local excise room tax to be used to help fund the Housing Bank.
Brookes will discuss the objectives of the Housing Bank and explain the two warrant articles. Following her presentation, Brookes will answer questions.
This is an opportunity for Island residents to learn more about the Housing Bank and the warrant articles that will be voted on at town meeting.
