To the Editor:
On behalf of the American Red Cross and the Island volunteer service organizations (Salvation Army, M.V. Medical Reserve Corps, and M.V. Disaster Animal Response Team), we would like to thank the Island emergency managers, the Oak Bluffs School, the West Tisbury Fire Department, the Oak Bluffs Fire and EMS, MVTV’s Michelle Vivian, and Laurel Reddington of WMVY for your support during our spring trainings.
Our Island volunteer service groups, and now community, are better informed, stronger, unified, and more prepared for this upcoming hurricane and winter season. We extend a year-round invitation to any and all in our community wishing to participate in future trainings, learn more about our groups and how we respond to emergencies and disasters, and the numerous other ways we contribute to the community.
