The beautiful sunrise I viewed Monday morning took some of the sting out of having to rise an hour earlier than usual due to the start of daylight-savings time. The sky to the east was streaked with the fire-red colors of the sun, making sharp contrast to the outline of the bare limbs of the oak trees silhouetted against the early dawn sky. Did everyone remember to turn their clocks ahead an hour? I was careful to do so before I went to bed, and knew that by 7 pm Sunday I would l be feeling like it was definitely time for bed.
My son Dion Alley, along with his wife Debra and my granddaughter Paige, arrived on the Island Saturday night from their home in Houston, Texas, where spring has arrived already. They have enjoyed long hikes with family and relatives, and spent some time with their father at Windemere Nursing and Rehab.
Speedy recovery wishes to Bill Anderson Sr., who is recovering from recent surgery.
